2026 FALL EXHIBIT & SHOW AT OCEAN SPRINGS COMMUNITY CENTER

ARTIST PROSPECTUS

Registration – Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 10:00am until 2:00pm

Artwork Pick-up on Monday November 9, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm

ELIGIBILITY

Adult members 18 years or older in good standing of the Ocean Springs Art Association who live in one of the six southern counties, including those who have moved away from the six southern counties but have continued to pay membership dues, may enter. Non-members who live in Jackson, Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River, Stone or George counties may join as members the day of registration and enter. Individual membership is $25 per year; Couple membership is $35 per year.

REGISTRATION

Exhibit entry fee is $45 for 1 or 2 entries per person (in addition to current membership).
In order for the show to be open daily, each artist is expected to volunteer for a half day sitting session so should bring his/her calendar.

OVERALL RULES OF ENTRY

Work which has previously been entered in the OSAA p’Artake Show will not be
All work entered must have been created within the past two years and be for
All work must be professionally presented, free from known defects, ready to hang or exhibit (paint and finishes dry, etc.) and in good taste.
Any work produced from widely published photographs, advertisements, art books, other artists’ work, commercial or mass-produced molds or patterns, novelty and/or decorative crafts or kits such as stitchery, mosaic work, china or tole painting will not be accepted
Any work judged to be a copy will be removed and any awards
Copyright infringement of any kind is

Artists must pick up unsold work at the close of the show on either Sunday, November 8 or Monday, November 9 between 2:00 pm. and 4 p.m. but no earlier than these times. Artists unable to pick up work must make plans for pick up.

2-D ENTRY RULES:

The artist’s name, address, and phone number, plus the title of the work, medium, and price must be printed legibly on a provided label and placed on the back lower-left corner of the work (as viewed from the back.).
First entry can be no larger than 40 in. in any direction, including

Work must be ORIGINAL and signed, completely executed by the individual
Any entry which is found to violate the U.S. copyright law shall be
Gallery-wrapped canvases must be mounted on stretcher frame with a minimum depth of 1½ inches and painted on all sides. Staples or tacks must not be visible.
Canvasses less than 1½ inches must be
Glass or Plexiglas must be used when framing ink, Conte, charcoal, watercolor, pastels or similar mediums on paper or art mounted on paper.

Digital art/photo-artistry created in Photoshop, Illustrator, Icolorama or other similar software will be accepted if it follows the guidelines set forth in this prospectus. Computer generated Artificial Intelligence (MidJourney, Dreamscape, etc.) pieces are not allowed.
Photographs printed on either traditional light-sensitive paper or inkjet prints on canvas, cotton rag, matte or glossy photographic papers, fiberglass, and metal will be accepted.

3-D ENTRY RULES:

The artist’s name, address, and phone number, plus the title of the work, medium, and price must be printed legibly on a provided label and placed on the bottom of 3-D If the piece is too small for this label, a small label will be provided.
3D art must fit in a 16 square surface footprint of a pedestal, be no taller than 6 ft., have a width/depth of not more than 24 in., and weigh no more than 150 lbs.
The artist is responsible for placement of the work that weighs more than 50 This is to be done during the set up at registration (and pick-up).
If a dolly is used, it must have rubber wheels as a protection for the exhibit area
Multiple art pieces of a cohesive unit to be sold as one unit, may be exhibited (example: teapot with cups and tray).

SALES

Purchase Patrons and OSAA Award/Show Sponsors may buy art during the first two hours of the Opening Reception before the exhibition opens to the general public. No other sales may be negotiated before 4 pm

of opening night. All purchases MUST be paid in full the day of purchase. Art sales prices must remain as listed during the length of the show.

LIABILITY

All reasonable care will be exercised in the handling of artwork, but neither OSAA nor the City of Ocean Springs can assume responsibility should any damage or loss occur. All work is entered at the sole risk of the artist. SUBMISSION OF WORK CONSTITUTES AGREEMENT BY THE ARTIST TO ALL CONDITIONS HEREIN. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED
